July 24, 2017

Ennis, TX – Ennis Regional Medical Center recently announced that Onely Hunter has been recognized as the hospital’s 2017 Mercy Award winner. The Mercy Award recognizes one employee from each of LifePoint Health’s hospitals who profoundly touches the lives of others and best represents the spirit and values on which the company was founded.

The Mercy Award is an annual recognition program established in 2002 to honor the life of Scott Mercy, LifePoint’s founding chairman and chief executive officer. The award is considered the highest honor a LifePoint employee can receive.

“At Ennis Regional Medical Center, we share LifePoint’s commitment to Making Communities Healthier, and we recognize this is supported by the good work and service of our employees on and off the job,” said Harold Siglar, interim CEO of Ennis Regional Medical Center. “We are extremely proud to recognize Onely Hunter for her efforts on behalf of our patients and our community. Onely goes above and beyond each and every day to ensure that every person she encounters receives the highest level of care and compassion.”

Onely serves as the scheduler in ERMC’s Rehab Department. The care and compassion Onely exemplifies when dealing with patients is exactly why she was chosen as this year’s Mercy Award recipient. Throughout the nomination process, many stories of her kindness and attention to patients’ needs surfaced. Not only is her exceptional care evident with patients, it is also evident in her home with her family, at her church with the congregation, and with all ERMC physicians and employees. Each hospital winner, including Onely Hunter, will be considered for LifePoint’s 2017 company-wide Mercy Award. The company-wide winner will be announced this summer and honored during a ceremony in Nashville, TN, in August, to which Onely Hunter and all hospital winners are invited to attend.
