National Hospital Week at Ennis Regional Medical Center Celebrates Every Day Heroes

Each year, National Hospital Week provides an opportunity to recognize and thank the more than 5 million healthcare professionals who provide safe, high quality healthcare in their communities. On May 6-12, Parkview Regional Hospital will join the American Hospital Association in celebrating these “Every Day Heroes” for their dedication, compassion and commitment to excellence.

“Our people are the heartbeat of our hospital,” said Bob Honeycutt, chief executive officer of Ennis Regional Medical Center. “From our physicians, nurses and clinical teams, to our greeters, food service employees and environmental services staff, our talented employees work hard each and every day to deliver compassionate, high quality care and make our patients and their families feel as comfortable as possible during their visit. I am so thankful for their relentless commitment to advancing our mission of Making Communities Healthier.”

National Hospital Week also recognizes the many contributions that hospitals and health systems make in their communities, beyond providing healthcare services. In our own community, Ennis Regional Medical Center is a vital contributor to the Ennis and greater Ellis County’s economic health, providing jobs for over 150  individuals, giving more than 2.8 million dollars in charity care in the last year and sponsoring a number of local organizations and philanthropic events, including the Ennis Bluebonnet Festival, the Lights of Ennis, the annual Ennis ISD Free Sports Physical Program, Friends of ERMC, Relay for Life, Helping Hands of Ennis, the Greater Ennis United Way and many more.

“We are honored to call Ennis home and to be an economic and philanthropic leader here,” Honeycutt  said. “I am so grateful for our ability to enhance the overall well-being of our community through the contributions we make – both inside and outside our hospital walls – and I am so proud of our employees who help make those contributions possible. They are an extraordinary team of individuals, and I am honored to work alongside them, not just during National Hospital Week, but 24 hours a day, 7  days a week, 365 days a year. They truly are our “Every Day Heroes.”
