HCAHPS
HCAHPS stands for ‘Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems”- Essentially, it’s the first national, standardized, publicly reported survey of patients’ perspectives of hospital care. It was developed by the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) together with the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality 9AHRQ), another agency in the Department of Health and Human Services.
Along with core measures and other quality metrics, the patients’ perception of their experience results can be viewed at https://www.cms.gov/medicare/quality/initiatives/hospital-quality-initiative/hospital-compare
